Week 4

Fabric In This Week: 0 yards
Fabric In This Year: 45 yards

Fabric Out This Week: 7.082 yards
Fabric Out This Year: -24.002 yards

I got the first of my Halloween quilts done. Which is the bulk of my yardage. I even quilted it myself. Nothing fancy just some meandering. All that is left is trimming it up and binding. I also worked on February's Block Lotto, I wont be able to post those until after the first. And the last thing I worked on is a baby gift. I will be finishing that up this week too. Come back next week to see photos of my finished work.

Goal for this next week 3 yards.

Week 3

I will start by saying this is just bad.

Fabric In This Week: 40 yards
Fabric In This Year: 45 yards

Fabric Out This Week: 4.333 yards
Fabric Out This Year: 13.916 yards

Total Busted This Year: 31.084 yards

The only thing I can say is I stocked up on Kona this week because it was on sale for $2.99 a yard. I ended up with a bolt of White and a bolt of Snow. Plus I ended up buying a fat quarter bundle for a quilt along that is starting next month. I bought Stone Flora & Fauna.

I did get the place mats made. I and still working on the Garden Party Birthday dress. I will finish it today. Delaney changed her mind on the dress 3 times this week. Friday night after i finished the dress she decided she wanted the apron too.

This week I WILL finish Calendar Men and use 3 yards of fabric.

Week 2

Fabric In This Week: 3.5 yards
Fabric In This Year: 5 yards

Fabric Out This Week: 9.25 yards
Fabric Out This Year: 9.583 yards

Total Fabric Busted This Year: 4.583 yards

This weeks list got ditched. Not that I didn't want to do it BUT I had other things pop up Sunday and Monday that I decided were more important to sew. I did get the row of Block Lotto blocks done, nothing else on the list though.

So now you're wondering what was more important than the all mighty list. Well Sunday night I found out about an Eagle Scout project that is getting pillow cases together for ConnKerr Cancer. So I was able to cut 5 from my stash and Ladybug Quilts donated 5 kits for me, so I made 10 pillow cases for him. Then I figured I had 2 of my own I needed to make so I did those too. On Monday I asked my friends to help me with some sampler quilt blocks for a project and I made 2 myself. That takes us to Tuesday when I found out that I group I belong to was asked to donate a quilt to be auctioned off for Breast Cancer , again I made 2 pink blocks. Wednesday I realized I had one day left to make my block for this months contest at 3 Creative Studio's. See how the list got ditched?

As for the purchase I bought more Halloween. It is on sale 60% off at JoAnn's right now, You may remember last fall when I did the Halloween swap. I have enough blocks that I am going to make 4 quilts. I need stuff to go with the blocks.

This week the list is:
Delaney's Dress
3 Creative Studios BOM
6 Place mats

Week 1

Here we go again! This is my first stash report of the New Year. It SUCKS!!!!

Fabric In This Week: 1.5 yards
Fabric In This Year: 1.5 yards

Fabric Out This Week: .333 yards
Fabric Out This Year: .333 yards

Total Fabric Busted This Year: -1.167 yards

Anyone else noticing I am starting off by going in the wrong direction? Or is it just me?

The good news is I did sew this week. I actually finished quilting the Calendar Men Quilt UFO. I made the binding for it. I just need to finish off the threads on the back and sew on the binding. This will be my first finish for the New Year. My goal is by mid week to have it done.

I also need to make Double D (Delaney and Daphne) dresses for D-1's birthday. I have TONS of fabric for their dresses and I am making Poochie Bags and monogramming them for each kid as the party favors. Of course they will be filled with stuff too. Bad news is none of this yardage will count. Since I didn't know how much I would need I didn't count it as an "in" so I wont count it as an "out." I will count "in" what is left over after the party.

This weeks goal 3 yards busted and this for sewing:
1. Finish Calendar Men
2. Make D-1's dress
3. 6 blocks for Dinner with Scott
4. 1 row of Block Lotto Blocks for me

First 7 Project For 2010

First we have the WISH project. This is the Dinner With Scott quilt. I took Scott to his first quilt shop 8 and a half years ago, Back Porch in Pacific Grove. He had no clue about fabric, he started then buying 1/2 yards of fabric with food on it. I have a little bit of everything in the box. Now to get started.

The ironing board is covered in the first 6 UFO's to be finished. I think I will have them all done before July. I will start at the top left:
1. Calendar Men Quilt- A LOT of quilting and binding. A little quilting is done.
2. Wild West Quilt- It NEEDS additional quilting to be usable. It has been ditched and bound.
3. Tessellations Quilt- This is my nemesis. It has been sitting next to my machine for over a year. All that is left is quilting the border and binding.
4. Brown and Blue Quilt- This needs trim and binding. The blue fabric on the top edge is to be the binding.
5. Lunch With My Friends Quilt- I my Bento Box at the Quilter. The lime fabric on the brown and blue quilt is the binding for that one.
6. Mod Quad Quilt- This is to be a twin quilt for Nikki, last years birthday. I have 11 weeks and 12 blocks done maybe I will make this year.
And don't forget that I need to bust 39 yards from my stash.
Now your turn, share with me your quilting goal for the new year. I know you have one.

Free Week

I have decided to take this week off of the Stash Busters. Anything used or purchased wont be counted. And no Lisa I am not going on a shopping spree, I did buy 5 yards of Kona White though.

I am going to spend this week figuring out my first 6 UFO's to be worked on, my first WISH project, getting organized and cleaning up. I am also going to trim a quilt and look for the fabric for the binding. I am also planning on finishing the top to the Milky Way blocks I won and setting another batch of blocks I won last fall from my guilds block of the month.

I will post photos of the UFO's I pick, my WISH project and the 2 tops I get done a little later this week.

SO what are your quilting goals for this next year?

Week 52

Fabric In This Week: 0 yards
Fabric In This Year: 132.451 yards

Fabric Out This Week: 1.5 yards
Fabric Out This Year: 216.609 yards

Total Fabric Busted: 84. 158 yards

I did buy fabric this week but I also used it this week. I didn't count it in or out. I purchased fabric for the border of the Milky Way blocks I won last month in Block Lotto. My blocks just have 2 more rows to set and the borders are already cut. I would like the top done before the end of the year.

This week I did some small stuff. I made December and January's Block Lotto blocks and I made a few owls for Toy Society. That is it.

I am happy with my results for the year. I fell a little short of my goal but I tried and that's what counts. I have learned much by being part of the Stash Busting Report over at Judy's this past year. I have made things out of my comfort zone, discovered weak spots in my stash, and used some of my scraps. I am pleased.
